Cleaning Up a Tab

Tidy a messy tab in one click: snap everything to a tidy grid, or recompute the whole layout from the arrows between elements.

A board that grew organically can end up slightly misaligned or tangled. The Cleanup section of the tab ellipsis menu tidies the active tab in a single click, so you do not have to nudge elements into place by hand.

Two ways to tidy

Expand the Cleanup section in the tab menu to find two tidiers:

  • Auto-align snaps the current positions onto a tidy grid, straightening rows and columns while keeping your overall arrangement. Reach for it when the layout is basically right but a little ragged.
  • Auto Layout recomputes positions from the arrow graph, laying the diagram out from scratch based on how its elements connect. Reach for it when you want the structure rebuilt rather than nudged.

Both act on the whole tab at once, and like any edit they can be undone if the result is not what you wanted.

More on layout

Cleanup is the same toolset as the Layout Cleanup feature, surfaced right on the tab menu so it is one click away while you work. See that guide for the details of how Auto-Align and Auto Layout decide where things go.

Try Auto-align first, it is the gentler of the two and keeps your layout recognisable. Fall back to Auto Layout when a board needs rebuilding from its connections.
