Settings

Settings opens from the gear in the quick controls at the end of the bottom bar, in the editor and in the Explorer. It holds the preferences that are about you rather than about any particular diagram, which is why there is one set of them and not one per diagram.

They are grouped, and one group is open at a time, so the dialog is a short list you read rather than a wall of switches.

Editor

• Minimal panel layout — replaces the floating Explorer, Palette, Editor and AI panels with a compact button bar that opens each as a popover. Good when you want the canvas back. It is always on for phones whatever this says. See Minimal Panels.
• Show minimap — the small overview of the whole tab in the bottom-left corner, once a tab has a few elements and the Activity panel is minimised. Desktop only. See The Minimap.
• Welcome Tour Completed — ticked once you have taken or dismissed the tour, which is how it only offers itself once. Untick it and close Settings to run the tour again. See The Welcome Tour.

Notifications

• Show notifications — the brief confirmation shown when you do something whose result isn't on screen, like moving a diagram to a folder or linking a tab. Errors are always shown, whatever this is set to, so a failure is never silently swallowed.

Accessibility

• Reduce motion — turns off the decorative animations and transitions (panels, popovers, the snap guides) so the interface appears instantly instead of sliding. Your device's own reduce-motion setting is always respected; this lets you force it on even where the device doesn't ask for it. See Accessibility.

AI

• AI Assistant — shows the AI panel, with its Ask and Clean modes. Off by default, and the group is absent entirely on a deployment with no AI configured. See AI Tools.

Privacy

• Send anonymous usage events — the small first-party events listed on the public telemetry dashboard: no user content, no third-party trackers. Turn it off to keep everything you do on your device. See What We Collect.

Settings follow you, most of them

Everything in this dialog is stored against your identity, not your browser, and applies to every diagram you open on every device you sign in from. For a guest, "your identity" is the per-browser id, so the preferences last as long as that browser does and migrate with your diagrams if you later sign up.

Two deliberate exceptions live outside the dialog:

• The canvas-behaviour toggles sit in the palette's own settings popover, next to the canvas they affect: auto-attach arrows, alignment guides, quick-add on hover and panel opacity. Flipping a setting where you can see its effect beats flipping it in a modal.
• Tool settings are per device, not per account: the eraser's brush, the laser's pen, the presenter's settings, and the switch that turns single-key shortcuts off. These are about the machine you are sitting at, so they deliberately do not follow you to another one.
