Zoom Controls

Move in and out of the canvas, fit the diagram to the screen, and jump to a preset level.

The zoom controls sit in the corner of the canvas and govern how close you are to your diagram. The infinite canvas can hold far more than one screenful, so zoom is how you move between the detail and the big picture.

The zoom cluster: step out, the current level, step in — with the preset popover open above.

The controls

  • Zoom in / out — step closer or further, centred on the canvas.
  • The percentage button — shows the current level. Click it to fit the whole diagram in view at once, the quickest way to get your bearings after panning around. Hover it for a popover of preset levels — 25% to 150%, plus Fit to screen — and pick one to jump straight there (100% is true size).

You can also zoom with a trackpad pinch or Ctrl/Cmd + scroll, and pan with the Hand tool or by dragging empty canvas, the zoom controls are simply the always-visible way to do it.

On a phone the percentage button hides to save space and a dedicated Fit button stands in for it.
