A comment panel is a card on the board that shows a whole comment thread: the count in its header, the comments themselves, a composer, and resolve or reopen. You read it where it sits, without opening anything.
Adding one
Add one from the Collaborate category to put a remark on a place: an empty patch of canvas, the gap between two clusters, the spot where something should go.
Or select an element and choose Collaborate › Comment Panel, which drops a panel to its right and joins the two with an ordinary arrow. Nothing bespoke: the panel is about that element, and an arrow is what "about" already means on this canvas, so the pair moves, exports and behaves like anything else you have drawn.
Panel or comment badge
You can already comment on any element by selecting it and using its comment badge. That popover is one reader's transient view: it opens for you and closes again.
A panel is the same thread, composer and resolve button, left out on the board, so it is in the export and in everyone else's session. That is what makes a remark part of the diagram rather than a note somebody left.
It does not fold away
A collapse-to-summary was built and then dropped, because a panel you deliberately put on the board is there to be read, and folding it hides the whole point of it behind another click. If you do not want a thread on display, the element's own comment badge is still there.
